I. Fabrics Produced by Air-jet Looms

Air-jet looms use compressed air for weft insertion, boasting high speed, efficiency, and broad adaptability to fibers (especially medium-to-low count short fibers and chemical fibers).

They mainly produce:

- Cotton and cotton blended fabrics Such as plain cloth, twill, khaki, etc., commonly used for shirts, casual wear, and home textile fabrics (bed sheets, quilt covers).

- Chemical fiber fabrics Pure or blended fabrics of polyester, nylon, polypropylene, etc., e.g., polyester-cotton poplin, polyester pongee (often used for garment linings, umbrella fabrics).

- Medium and heavy fabrics Coarse twill, low-count corduroy, canvas (for bags, industrial fabrics), etc.

- Industrial fabrics Some filter cloths and packaging fabrics (taking advantage of their high-speed production and moderate strength).

Water-jet looms use high-pressure water for weft insertion. The water flow has a "moistening" and "guiding" effect on fibers, making them only suitable for hydrophobic fibers (hydrophilic fibers absorb water and swell, causing difficulty in weft insertion).

They mainly produce:

- Polyester fabrics The main products of water-jet looms, such as polyester filament fabrics (pongee, peach skin, suede), and blended fabrics of polyester staple fiber and filament, used for garment fabrics, home textiles, and decorative cloth.

- Nylon fabrics Such as nylon taffeta (for umbrella fabrics, garment linings), nylon mesh (for sportswear, mosquito nets).

- Polypropylene fabrics Lightweight fabrics, e.g., polypropylene filament fabrics (for packaging bags, agricultural covers).

- High-density waterproof fabrics Utilizing the hydrophobicity of polyester and nylon to produce high-density fabrics (e.g., outdoor jacket fabrics, tent cloth), which can enhance waterproofness after coating.
